The days are getting longer and the winter weather keeps on coming, as evidenced by our recent Snowmageddon experience. In addition, the JR Merit team continues to grow! We welcomed five new hires in the last couple months—Field Superintendent Jason Bethell and Talent Acquisition Advisor Breanne Garai joined us in January, and Safety Director David Terry, Fall Creek field team members Sven Karkkinen and Joe Rogers, and Project Coordinator Daniel Altukoff joined in February!
Jason Bethell, Field Superintendent: Jason brings extensive experience in the pulp and paper industry as well as knowledge of the manufacturing, food processing, rare metals, and glass processing industries. Self-described as respectful, dependable, honest, and resourceful, Jason is proud of the lasting relationships and reputation he has built with his customers and coworkers. Outside of work, Jason enjoys cooking, sports, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family, including six grandkids!
Breanne Garai, Talent Acquisition Advisor: Breanne brings creative approaches to growing out team from her extensive experience in recruiting across a diverse range of industries. Self-described as tenacious, diligent, genuine, and adaptable, Breanne is already playing an integral role in helping our team grow and develop! In her free time, Breanne enjoys sports, traveling, and reading. Fun fact: she used to be an opera singer!
David Terry, Safety Director: David started his construction industry career implementing health and safety programs and trainings for an excavation company, then became a consultant and helped companies across the western United States improve safety processes. His expertise is helping JR Merit maintain our stellar safety approaches and record. David’s hobbies include fishing, coaching and playing baseball, working on cars, and spending time with his family.
Sven Sarkkinen and Joe Rogers: Sven is a Pipefitter foreman and Joe is a Carpenter Field Supervisor for our Fall Creek State Fish Hatchery project located at the Klamath River Hydroelectric Project in Oregon.
Daniel Altukoff, Project Coordinator: Daniel joins us as a Project Coordinator, bringing prior coordinator experience in the process engineering industry and a proven track record of building and maintaining lasting relationships with coworkers and stakeholders. Self-described as honest, reliable, motivated, and consistent, he is excited to contribute to our continued growth and success.
