We rehabilitated, strengthened, and improved four existing steel tainter gates within the concrete spillway structure at the Montrose Steam Electric Station, which was originally constructed in the mid-1950s. This gate work included repairing and strengthening the existing corroded steel, installing additional steel, removing existing lead-based coatings, and re-coating all gates and associated areas. We also made modifications and improvements to the hoists, seals, hoist-lift chains, grease lines, torque tubes, adjacent concrete and embedded steel, trunnion thrust blocks, and hoist platforms.
