When Crown added a new production line to their existing aluminum can manufacturing plant, JR Merit served as a prime contractor adding four structural steel equipment and maintenance platforms supporting the new line. We fabricated and erected half a million pounds of steel in four months while the existing plant remained fully operational. Our meticulous, detailed, and phased approach enabled us to successfully manage multiple complex aspects of erecting every item, including daily inventory of more than 2,600 steel members, close coordination to enable the work of more than 10 contractors on site at a time with limited staging areas, and critical safety measures to support erecting materials from an average height of 16 feet above finished floor.
